Mineral Water Guide

How the Compare Waters tool works

See the differences that matter - side by side.

The h2oMatch Compare tool lets you place up to 3 mineral waters next to each other and instantly see how their mineral profiles differ. All data comes from official water labels.

What You Can Compare

The comparison tool displays the main parameters commonly listed on mineral water labels, including:

Seeing these values next to each other makes differences that are hard to spot on individual labels immediately clear.

Why Comparison Matters

Mineral waters can differ significantly in composition.

Calcium

Can range from less than 10 mg/L to over 500 mg/L

Sodium

Can range from nearly zero to over 100 mg/L

Because most people drink almost two liters of water per day, even small differences add up over time. Comparing waters directly makes these differences easy to understand.

Using the Tool

You can select multiple mineral waters and view their mineral values in a single comparison table.

quickly identify differences between waters

understand how mineral composition varies

explore which waters align with your preferences

The tool presents official mineral composition data - no interpretation, no bias. You decide what matters to you.

Try h2oMatch Compare

A worked example: three real waters side by side

Here is what the Compare tool shows when you pick Acqua Panna, Evian and Contrex, using the values in the h2oMatch database.

WaterTypeFixed residueSodiumCalciumMagnesiumBicarbonate
Acqua Panna Naturale (IT)Still143732.36.7107
Evian Naturelle (IT)Still3456.58026360
Contrex (FR)Still2,073847972.2378

Values in mg/L from the h2oMatch database (producer label data).

Step 1, overall mineral content. Read the fixed residue first. Acqua Panna is low, Evian is moderate and Contrex is several times higher: they belong to three different mineralisation groups.

Step 2, the minerals that drive the difference. Calcium explains most of the gap: Contrex contains far more than Evian, and Evian more than Acqua Panna. Magnesium follows the same order. Sodium stays low in all three, so it does not separate them.

Step 3, what it means for you. If you look for a light, neutral water, the comparison points to Acqua Panna; if you want a water with a lot of calcium and magnesium, to Contrex; Evian sits in between. The tool shows these differences; it does not decide which one is better for your health.
